The obvious not being voiced by the boy was appreciated-- doubly so since the top two buttons of his shirt had been loosened to combat the last of the late summer heat and plainly revealed the uppermost portion of an intricate emblem that glowed across his upper body. Being subjected to so little attention felt like a breath of fresh, country air-- Siegfried quite enjoyed the freedom, for some reason.
"Thanks," He said, expression softening at the notion of being invited. He was well aware that he was tall and was considered odd for his humble hobbies. Invitations to barbecues were neat!
"I'll be sure to let my spouse know," he added, and looked back over his shoulder towards the house like a hopeful puppy. "They'll love it!"
As if he didn't.
"How many zucchini do you need?" he asked, and held up the basket for the boy to take as many as he wished. "I'm getting ready to start making breads and leaving them at everyone's doorstep again."
Because, surely, he had done the exact same the year before. It was a normal method of handling an over-abundance of squash.
